The Verkhovyna Ukrainian Song & Dance Ensemble is accepting applications for the position of:
CHOIR CONDUCTOR/ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
The Verkhovyna Ukrainian Song & Dance Ensemble is the cultural arm of the Ukrainian Youth Association (CYM) Edmonton Branch. The Verkhovyna Choir is a mixed (SATB) community choir whose repertoire consists of sacred and secular music. The choir has been active in the Edmonton community for over 60 years, performing in community events and touring both nationally and internationally.
Qualifications:
Requisite choral and conducting training
Thorough knowledge of Ukrainian choral literature
Fluency in both Ukrainian and English languages
Responsibilities:
Conduct weekly rehearsals for concert preparation, conduct performances and liturgical services as required
Provide vocal and choral training
Plan and select appropriate repertoire annually
Plan with an artistic committee for major Ensemble performances *Short listed applicants may be asked to conduct a rehearsal
